The appeal curb appeal of a home can be enhanced when the garage door color matches the front door. This garage door was painted to match the tones of the front door which is under the foyer shade. Because of the constant sun exposure, the garage door started to peel and expose the metal underneath.

To refinish the door, it was necessary to remove the peeling paint using chemical paint stripper, scrapers and sandpapers.

After that was done and cleaned off, it was time for the new primer and base coat paint to be applied.

To create a more realistic look and to better match the front door, a lighter base color was incorporated and painted over the darker base in horizontal streak patterns to mimic the variation of wood tones.

To top it all off, the woodgrain look was created using a special tool to remove some of the topcoat leaving the beautiful wood patterns on the finished surface.

The only thing left to do was to spray two coats of urethane protective clear coat to ensure that the finish will last a long time under the sun; also to appreciate the newly achieved curb appeal of the home.
